The Malaika-Katrina war hots up

There's been a buzz about Malaika Arora Khan disliking her brother-in-law Salman's girlfriend Katrina Kaif. 

It was noticed by many when she gave Katrina's grand birthday bash a miss. Malaika's struggling sister Amrita who makes it a point to hang around with the Khans all the time didn't bother to even wish Kat!

Apparently they share icy cold vibes whenever they are with each other!

The latest is that Salman wanted his lady love Katrina to be in brother Arbaaz Khan's maiden production venture but Malaika put her foot down. This in spite of Katrina being one of the leading actresses of B-Town today!

It's another matter that Kat can't act at all. But we are sure that even Malaika knows nothing about acting! After all she's making her acting debut now, that too in an itsy bitsy role in 'EMI'. All these years she's only been the item girl in various flicks!

Well, Malaika can be jealous too. After all Kat has been lucky enough to achieve a lot in a short span of time. 

The Khans have also been upset with Kat since she agreed to further her career by being a part of the Shah Rukh camp. Malaika must have taken full advantage of the fact.

Arbaaz like an obedient hubby acted according to his dear wife's wish. So Katrina is out of the flick even though Salman is playing the lead role. 

Wonder how Kat plans to fit into this hostile family environment! Or maybe she thinks that being with Salman and his folks is just another stopgap arrangement!

Katrina Kaif celebrates Diwali in USA

She misses her family and firends on this special occasion and to compensate she is throwing a small party for friends in New York.

Katrina is in New York shooting for Kabir Khan’s film, Love in New York, co-starring John Abraham.

“I am really going to miss the Diwali celebrations. So, I am going to have a small party here in the US,” says the actor adding that she ‘just happened to think about it’.

“I don’t like being away from the city during Diwali. The kind of energy and enthusiasm that you see in Mumbai during this festival can’t be found anywhere in the world. I want to wish Happy Diwali to all my folks back there,” says the star.

The actor hopes that she will be able to spend the next Diwali with her friends in Mumbai.

But right now, work comes first for the actor. She has just returned to the US after performing in Shah Rukh Khan’s Temptations Reloaded show in Dubai. To perform in Dubai and travel back to America took her almost 40 hours.

Katrina plans her christmas holidays.

Who says acting is easy and actors have the world in their hands.Traveling from one place to another for long outdoor shoots can take a toll and facing the heat is Katrina Kaif. Kats' is currently shooting in New York with John Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh for Kabir Khan's film, produced by Yashraj. The tight schedule has kept her away from home for over two months. She then had to fly out to Dubai for a day to join SRK and Kareena Kapoor for the Temptations Reloaded tour. 

"I am feeling homesick," she said. Katrina recalls the time her pretty sister Isabelle had come down to 
town to spend some quality time with her. "Isabelle was on a vacation. She flew down here to spend sometime with me. I miss my family a lot. I miss my home. But what to do my professional 
commitments keep me busy. I am glad that my family flies down to meet me whenever they can." 

But the biggest celebration that Katrina looks forward to is the family reunion during Christmas. "I am trying my best to see if we can all be together." Katrina adds, "I hope no professional work comes up then. I have kept my fingers crossed from now."

Salman, unplugged

The world may see Salman Khan as arrogant but tell him that and he says that people who do not know him, have never made an effort to do so. “Most people know of me than knowing me and so they don’t bother to know me as a person. Maybe I’m at fault there. If you really want to know something about me, I will tell you honestly. But if you are going to use that answer for a headline or for breaking news then I would not,” Salman says candidly.

The actor says that he is not somebody who would shy away from admitting if he has a shortcoming. Adds the star, “So, if you are concerned about something that my fans would want to know about me, a plus point or a shortcoming of me, I would openly come out and say, ‘Boss I have this problem’. But perhaps, I don’t let them come so close to me because I don’t see any concern for me from anyone. I just see breaking news, headlines and controversies. That’s why I shy away.”

And guess what? Salman Khan has still not cooled off after the spat he has a couple of months ago at his girlfriend, Katrina Kaif’s birthday party at a restaurant in Bandra. 
Never mind how many times journos prop up the question of going for a handshake with Shah Rukh, he still prefers not to budge from his stand.

We asked him the question again. Does he want to want to make it up with SRK. The answer again was a short, “No”.

The star has acted with his girl friend Katrina Kaif in Partner but it is Subhash Ghai’s Yuvvraaj that will see them pair up as lead actors for the first time.  “We have acted with each other before and we waited for the right film to come by where we could act opposite each other. It was great to act with her. She is a talented person and I’m looking forward to the release of the film. The story of the film is really good and I think it will do well,” Salman ends

Katrina kicked about being Salman’s on-screen girlfriend

Katrina Kaif, who has stuck to Salman through good times and bad for the last three years, can’t hide her excitement when you mention the film Yuvvraaj. Katrina, who had a successful run with Akshay Kumar this year, will be playing her real-life boyfriend’s love interest on-screen for the first time.

She says (over the phone from New York where she is currently shooting for Prakash Jha’s film), “I have done some movies with Salman in the past. But they were all comedies like Partner and cameos like Hello. I was not even paired  opposite him in any of the films. This is the first time I am playing his romantic interest and we will be hitting the screens as a pair. I am really looking forward to the film doing really well.”

Prague sets Katrina’s heart racing!

However, the Bollywood hottie is not as defensive when it comes to talking about the other love of her life that has her brimming with excitement.  But good friend Salman Khan need not lose his cool or his shirt yet. The actress has not fallen in love with a guy, rather it’s the beautiful Prague — where she had recently been shooting for Subhash Ghai’s Yuvraaj — that has set her heart racing.  “I think it’s one of the most romantic places I’ve been to. It’s so calm, serene and beautiful. I’ve had some lovely experiences there,” she exclaimed. Though not ready to divulge much about her lovely experiences, we’re sure, the fact that she was shooting there with Salman definitely made it all the more lovelier. “Oh, I had a fun time shooting there. Subhash sir, Anil and Salman all of them are  thorough  professionals so there’s a lot to learn from them always,” she added. “In fact I am even planning on coming here once again as soon as I decide to treat myself to a nice vacation!” Well, and no points for  guessing who’d she rather be spending her vacation in Prague with, right Salman?
