Insecure Katrina leaves Priyanka, Ranbir

Reports were there that Katrina had agreed to appear in Anurag Basu's ‘Khamoshi’ starring Ranbir Kapoor but news is there now that the actress has moved out of the project now.

Buzz is there that Katrina Kaif opted out of the movie after she learnt that Priyanka too would be playing a lead in the film.

Priyanka Chopra has been signed in to play a mentally challenged girl while Ranbir will get to play a 'dumb and deaf' guy.

A source revealed, “When Katrina agreed to do Anurag Basu’s film with Ranibr, no mention was made of another heroine, and certainly not of Priyanka. However, when word about this reached her, she found the whole idea of the credit titles reading 'Ranbir-Katrina-Priyanka' too gimmicky. Not that she has anything against Priyanka or any other co-star."

Katrina herself too doesn’t deny that she has decided to do only solo-heroine films. “I am not saying I won't do films with other leading ladies, but for now, I'm happy in the space I am. Why should I unnecessarily rock the boat?

The actress is handling several project at present, like KJo’s Dostana 2, Zoya Akhtar’s next, and Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan, for which she is shooting at the moment.

kat priyanka Katrina Kaif is sitting pretty in her own little niche in tinsel town and there’s no way she’s going to step out of it or do anything that jeopardizes her smooth-sailing career. Little surprise then that she chose to excuse herself from director Anurag Basu’s film with Ranbir Kapoor when she learnt that Priyanka Chopra will have a pivotal role in it.
Anurag Basu had purportedly planned a casting coup by finalizing Ranbir, Katrina and Priyanka for the same film. And Katrina’s detractors felt it was a forgone conclusion that Priyanka, being a better actress, would walk away with plaudits.

But Katrina has nipped that possibility in the bud by simply opting out of the project.
Katrina says her preference at this point of her career is to do only solo-heroine films. On top of it, she’s is utterly excited to have bagged the Hindi remake rights of a French film. She plans to produce the film and act in it as well. And with her date diary already chock-full of commitments, she had to opt out of some film to accommodate the remake. The axe fell on Basu’s film with Ranbir and Priyanka, in which she might have been reduced to a second fiddle.
Confirming to a tabloid that she’s eyeing solo-heroine projects only, Katrina said: “...I'm happy in the space I am. Why should I unnecessarily rock the boat?”
Yeah baby. Row it, not rock it!
